Another tipped-in plate is a reproduction of an oil painting of a drawing room scene. 325 pages not counting the tipped-in leaves. Hundreds of black and white drawings of costumes. Text in French language. Table of contents and list of plates in the back of the book. Some slight damage to the paper spine and covers. A lovely copy of a significant reference work. Chapters on all the major designers for the Paris opera, from the 1600's through early 1900's.
